Setting up a New Account/Closing an Old Account
To set up new service, you may complete our Utility Account Application and submit it in person, through the mail, or by providing the information over the phone at (360) 887-3557. The form can also be used to close an account. To better assist you with your account, please download the Utility Billing Brochure and Utility Billing Calendar.
Other utility services are provided for within the City but are offered through franchise agreements. See links below for other utilities such as gas, electricity, garbage and sewer.
Paying Your Utility Bill
There are a variety of ways to pay your utility bill to the City:
Customer Online Services
Customer Online Services allows you to review your utility account, pay bills, see past bill amounts and payments, water consumption history for the past year and to make payments online from the convenience and security of your home computer. Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and electronic checks are accepted.
Credit Card and Electronic Check Payments
Customer service can accept in person or over the phone payments during regular business hours. Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and electronic checks are accepted.
The easiest way to pay your utility bill is by signing up for this payment option. This program automatically withdraws the amount due on your bi-monthly utility bill from your bank account. Note: The City will continue to send statements for utility bills to customers who select this payment option as a courtesy. The “Total Amount Due This Statement” will be deducted from your account on the due date. The statement will show “Account Setup on Auto-pay” for those customers who have elected this payment option. To sign up, complete the Auto Pay Application and mail Attention: Finance Department to the City of Ridgefield.
Payment by Mail
You can send your utility bill payment with a check or money order to:
City of Ridgefield
PO Box 608
Ridgefield, WA 98642
In Person or Drop Box
Customer service can accept payments during regular business hours. A secure drop box is available outside of City Hall in downtown Ridgefield for after-hours payments by check or money order. Drop box payments will be picked up at 8:00 a.m. and posted to your account on the following business day. City Hall is located at 230 Pioneer St in downtown Ridgefield.
If you are unable to pay your bill by the due date, due to financial circumstances out of the ordinary, we encourage you to contact the Utility Billing Department in City Hall to apply for payment arrangements, prior to disconnection.
The Low-Income discount program is designed to offer reduced utility rates for citizens who meet federal poverty guidelines based on family size. Please complete the Low Income Discount Form and contact customer service for more information or questions on eligibility.
