Ridgefield Traffic Impacts

This newsletter provides the most up-to-date information about road construction in the City limits and traffic impacts caused by these projects:

New Traffic Alerts

Pioneer Street - June 2: Short delays on Pioneer Street between Royle Road and 56th Place as our Stormwater Team completes roadside mowing. This work is being done on Sunday beginning around 9 AM to minimize the impact on travel, however it will cause short delays due to slow moving equipment. Thank you for your patience as we complete this necessary maintenance. 

NE 279th Street - May 21 - June 18: A single lane closure will be in effect Tuesday, May 21 - Tuesday, June 18 from 8 AM - 4 PM to allow a contractor install a sanitary sewer main in the westbound lane. 

S Royle Road - May 20 - June 21: A single lane closure with flagging during work hours, 7 AM to 5 PM on S Royle Road between Wells Drive/15th Street and 5th Street Monday, May 20 - Friday, June 21, 2024. This closure will allow utility, irrigation, and sidewalk prep work to occur for Phase 2 of Royle Road Corridor Improvements.


Ongoing Traffic Impacts

N Royle Road - CLOSURE - April 8 - June 8: Both lanes of N Royle Road from N 10th Street to north of N 13th Street are CLOSED Monday, April 8 through Saturday, June 8. This closure is necessary for the developer to complete utility work and frontage improvements associated with the Paradise Found Subdivision. Detour in place via Pioneer Street to N Reiman Road and NW 289th Street, or via Interstate 5 to La Center. See Detour Map (PDF). 


Upcoming Traffic Impacts

Pioneer Widening and 50th Place Roundabout Project: Ridgefield's vision for a safer and more efficient transportation network between Interstate 5 and Royle Road will take a significant step forward this summer with the start of the Pioneer Widening and 50th Place Roundabout project. This capital project is one piece of a group of transportation projects in the area designed to improve traffic flow, enhance safety, and accommodate future growth in our vibrant community.

Recognizing the disruptions that these road construction projects will bring, the City of Ridgefield is committed to keeping the community informed every step of the way. Any closures affecting Pioneer Street will be announced at least two weeks in advance, providing ample time for residents to plan alternate routes. Learn more about the project.
