Ridgefield Traffic Impacts

Upcoming Pioneer Street Closure - Oct. 11-14

Pioneer Street will be closed from 8 PM Friday, October 11 to 6 AM Monday, October 14, between Discovery Drive and just west of 53rd Place. This closure will allow the city’s contractors to install a major stream culvert in the closure area as part of the Pioneer Widening and Discovery Drive Roundabout project.

• DETOUR: Detour route will be in place along S Royle Road, Wells Drive, Timm Road, S 6th Way and S 56th Place. Drivers are also encouraged to choose an appropriate detour for their destination, for example if you are headed to La Center, consider driving north on Royle Road. Discovery Drive will be open for local access to businesses such as Mountain View Dental, Ridgefield Physical Therapy and Costco from the west. Please remember to drive the appropriate speed through detours and always keep an eye out for pedestrians, cyclists and others sharing the roadway.

S 25th Street - September 26 - October 10: Single lane closure will be in effect on Thursday, September 26 through Thursday, October 10 from 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM on S 25th Street to S 4th Way. This closure is to allow for stormwater and water installation.

279th Street - September 9-October 4: Single lane closure with flagging in effect Monday, September 9 - Friday, October 4 from 7 AM to 5 PM on N 279th Street between NW 5th Avenue and NE 14th Court. The road will be fully open at night. This closure is to allow for culvert installation. 

S Hillhurst Road - September 18 - October 3:  Starting on Wednesday, September 18, a single lane closure will be in effect with flaggers on Hillhurst Road between 9 AM – 2:30 PM. The closure is required to remove an existing light pole at the RHS pedestrian crosswalk on the west side of Hillhurst. This construction is part of the Hillhurst School Zone Pedestrian and Bike Safety project.

Pioneer Street - Ongoing: Intermittent flagging and work zone speed limit of 25 mph in effect on Pioneer Street between Royle Road and 56th Place for the Pioneer Widening and Discovery Drive Roundabout project. Expect short delays. Fines double in work zones.
