Ridgefield In-N-Out Burger Will Keep Customer Vehicle Lines Off Public Roads

The City of Ridgefield has worked closely with In-N-Out Burger (INOB) to ensure that all queues for the restaurant will be kept off public roads, minimizing disruptions for residents and businesses during the restaurant’s anticipated high-traffic opening period. While the City does not know exactly when INOB will open, we want to assure residents and visitors are able to safely navigate travel to and through Ridgefield.

The Ridgefield INOB is located on the east end of the Union Ridge Town Center development, near the Interstate 5 and Pioneer Street junction. A minimum of two routes between Pioneer Street and Union Ridge Town Center will always be available – N 56th Place and either N 53rd Place or Discovery Drive. INOB will store all customer vehicle lines in designated private property areas, keeping traffic off public roads. If those staging areas become full and additional cars cannot be safely accommodated without impacting public roads, incoming customers will not be permitted to join the line and will be asked to return later.

In addition to working with INOB to plan for expected traffic, the City is making changes to the 56th Place and Pioneer Street roundabout to create a clear route for community members traveling through the area for the duration of the Pioneer Street Widening Project. These adjustments include creating a designated right-turn lane from westbound Pioneer Street onto N 56th Place for Union Ridge Town Center and Ridgefield Gateway traffic and temporarily closing the northbound exit of the 56th Place and Pioneer Street roundabout to streamline traffic in the roundabout. These changes will take effect Monday, August 11 and will remain in place until there are two lanes open in each direction all the way through the Pioneer Widening project.

To ensure the safety of all travelers and maintain emergency access, vehicles will not be permitted to park or line up on any public roadway, including I-5, its ramps, Pioneer Street, 56th Place, and Pioneer Canyon Drive. This will be enforced by local and state law enforcement.

City Staff will monitor traffic conditions using the City’s live Pioneer Widening Project cameras. These cameras are also available to the public and can be used to check current conditions before driving through the area. If congestion occurs on Pioneer Street, travelers may consider taking an alternate route and entering or leaving the city via S Hillhurst Road or N Royle Road. Costco shoppers are encouraged to use N 53rd Place, or N Discovery Drive to access Pioneer Canyon Drive to avoid INOB cues on N 56th Place.

As stated before, the City does not know when the Ridgefield In-N-Out Burger (INOB) will open. The INOB site and adjacent sites are private property and active construction zones, trespassing on these properties to view activities, stage vehicles or camp out is illegal and potentially dangerous.
