Celebrate the Downtown Arts Quarter and Kick-Off Youth Arts Month!

The Ridge Color Run

Start your morning with the second The Ridge Color Run hosted by The Ridge Parents Association. The Ridge is partnering with the City of Ridgefield for March First Saturday to Support Sunset Ridge Intermediate and View Ridge Middle Schools. This Virtual Run gives you the freedom to run your own route on your own time all while being a part of this special event. There will be a Social Media kick-off at 10AM on the The Ridge Association Facebook page (@sunsetridgeviewridgeassoc) and you are invited to post your pics and tag The Ridge all day long.

First Saturday Activity Bags

Activity Bags will be available for no-contact pick up at Ridgefield City Hall on Friday, March 5th starting at 3PM. The bags will remain available while supplies last.

Downtown Art Scavenger Hunt

Complete the 2021 Downtown Art Scavenger Hunt! Pick up a Scavenger Hunt at City Hall or download and print one here. Complete your Scavenger Hunt over the weekend and drop off your completed hunt in the payment drop box at City Hall (no-contact). There will be honor system completion prizes to pick up when you submit and all completed Scavenger Hunts will be entered in a raffle for a GRAND PRIZE. The GRAND PRIZE will be a Art Kit in Wooden Case, provided by the Ridgefield Art Association.

Art Classes

Learn to Crochet Class

Community Member Carol Tocco will be teaching you how to chain and single crochet stitch in a recorded video you can pause, rewind, and access at any time. This beginner class will get you started with basic crochet skills and you will make a dishcloth. We will supply the hook and yarn required for the project, and send you the class for March First Saturday on Saturday, March 6th. Supply kit pickup will be on Wednesday, March 3rd from 4:30PM-6PM at Overlook Park. Masks are required for pickup.

Create a Clay Monster Live Class – Saturday, March 3rd at 1PM

Join Ridgefield artist and community member Patricia Thompson for this live art class to make a fun, colorful Clay Monster. All supplies will be provided for this Zoom art class. Participants will be invited to a live Zoom meeting for the class. We recommend you have a camera available and on so you can share your progress with fellow participants! Supply kits will be available for pickup on Wednesday, March 3rd from 4:30PM-6PM at Overlook Park. Kits will include everything needed to make this fun art piece.

Paint and Sip Live Class – Saturday, March 3rd at 3PM

Paint along with Ridgefield artist and community member Maureen O’Reilly during this live Paint and Sip watercolor class. All supplies will be provided (including a bottle of wine!) for this Zoom paint class. Participants will be invited to a live Zoom meeting for the class. We recommend you have a camera available and on so you can share your progress with fellow participants! Participants of all ages are welcome to join the class, but you must be 21+ to receive wine. Minors and those not interested in wine, please select the NO WINE ticket option.

Supply kits will be available for pickup on Wednesday, March 3rd from 4:30PM-6PM at Overlook Park. Kits will include everything needed to make this fun art piece. If the wine option is selected, a bottle of Roundabout Red* will be included with the kit. MUST BE 21+ TO PICK UP WINE. All proceeds will go to the Ridgefield Art Association.

*Roundabout Red is an award-winning 2018 Marechal Foch made and bottled by Gouger Cellars Winery from grapes grown in the roundabouts on Pioneer St at the Ridgefield Junction. In September 2020 Gouger Cellars received an International Gold Medal in the Finger Lakes International Wine & Spirits Competition for Roundabout Red. There were only about 40 cases made of this exclusive wine.
