Saturday, August 3rd is Ridgefield First Saturday: Play in the Park – Find Adventures in Your Own Backyard! Join in the fun in downtown Ridgefield for a day outdoors with food, friendship, and fun. Bring along a blanket or some chairs for a picnic and a Saturday in the park.

At Overlook Park, come for First Saturday festivities including Farmer’s Market and First Saturday vendors, a used book sale with Friends of Ridgefield Library, kids crafts, backyard games, and volleyball. Listen to live summertime music from Richie Bean. Compete in teams or individuals in a Cornhole Contest (with prizes!) at 11. Enjoy morning activities then have a picnic in the park with box lunches and snacks available for purchase, and free watermelon slices! After lunch, Train Like an Astronaut as you blast off with easy exercises and field games that make fitness fun with Ridgefield Community Library.

Explore Downtown Ridgefield with a History Walking tour from Clark County Historical Museum beginning at Overlook Park at 9 am (register in advance at www.cchmuseum.org). Or experience Ridgefield from the water on a “Blackberries & Birds” guided kayak paddle on Lake River with Alder Creek/Ridgefield Kayak (preregister at www.aldercreek.com or call 360-727-4520). When you are finished with your tour, pick up a refreshing root beer float at Old Liberty Theater.

9-2: First Saturday Festivities

9AM – Blackberries & Birds Guided Kayak Paddle on Lake River

9AM – History Walking Tour begins @ Overlook Park
hosted by Clark County Historical Museum. Read more and register in advance online.

11AM-Noon – Cornhole Contest
teams or individuals compete for prizes! No pre-registration required.

11-2PM – Picnic Time
-Box lunches available for purchase
-Lots of snacks: roasted nuts, popcorn & cotton candy
-Free watermelon slices
-Bring your own lunch and some chairs or a blanket.

12:30-2:30PM – Train Like an Astronaut
