Volunteering is essential to creating a safer, more welcoming community. It gives an opportunity for you to get to know others and feel like you’re making a difference. Ridgefield can accommodate all kinds of helpers with any type of abilities and whether you are looking for long term volunteering or just a day, you are always welcome to join our volunteers.

The City of Ridgefield has many volunteer opportunities including helping at events, outdoor duties, community service and more!

All City of Ridgefield volunteers must have a completed and signed Volunteer Registration on file  – click here to complete registration and waiver. Registered volunteers will be emailed when new opportunities are scheduled, registration only needs to be completed ONCE.

City Volunteer opportunities will be listed below and emailed to our Volunteers email distribution list. To join the distribution list, complete volunteer registration. Volunteer registration only needs to be completed once per individual.

Ongoing Project: Abrams Park Nature Play Area

Lend a helping hand in constructing a new Nature Play Area at Abrams Park! Volunteers age 7 and up are welcome to come to any of our ongoing volunteer events to take an active role in building this new, innovative play area. 

Our first volunteer event in this project series was on Saturday, July 17th. We had an excellent turnout and volunteers made amazing progress! 

Upcoming Events – Please RSVP using the link below!

Saturday, Nov. 6th: We will return for Phase 3 of building the Abrams Park Nature Play Area on Saturday, November 6th from 9AM-12PM. Volunteers ages 7+ are invited to join in and help continue the build of this new play area. If you have them, please bring gloves, hand tools such as shovels, and a wheel barrow – if you don’t have those available no problem! Please RSVP using the link below.
