While we have tried to keep our Community Events Calendar updated, there may be events listed that have since been cancelled. Please check with event hosts/venue prior to planning attendance and follow all local health guidelines.

You are invited to make a difference on your local wildlife refuge! Join us to protect the rebuild native habitat on the Refuge through blackberry removal and tree caging. Volunteering will also give you the opportunity to remove barbed wire fencing to prevent wildlife injury and death. We provide snacks and beverages. All work days are rain or shine. Wear long pants and sturdy shoes. Gloves and eye protection provided. Arrive early to sign paperwork.

State of the City

Start your morning at Ridgefield’s first color run! The Ridge Color Run is a 2 mile Color Fun Run in downtown Ridgefield! Hosted by The Ridge Parents Association.

 After you run, join us at the Ridgefield Administrative and Civic Center for activities, vendors, and an art showcase.

SCHEDULE

9AM – The Ridge Color Run @ Davis Park | Race begins at 10AM
Fun, un-timed two mile walk or run around historic Downtown Ridgefield. Wear white because you will be doused in different colored powders along the route. The fun continues at a Finish Festival with music at Davis Park. Sponsored by The Sunset Ridge/View Ridge Parent Association.

9AM-2PM – Art Celebration @ Ridgefield Administrative & Civic Center

  • Express Yourself: Hands-on activities for kids and adults of all ages. Featuring Ridgefield Community Library, Ridgefield Art Association and Ridgefield School District artists & staff.
  • Farmers Market and First Saturday Vendor Fair
  • Scavenger Hunt: Pick up your game board and then stroll around historic downtown to discover art pieces.
  • Community mural: Help create a large and colorful masterpiece.

The following listings are for Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge. Limited space is available. Sign up for any of the listed walks by calling the Ridgefield Office at (360) 887-4106 or emailing Josie Finley at josie_finley@fws.gov with the number in your party and contact info. Other groups that may be offering guided hikes are; Columbia Gorge Refuge Stewards, Backyard Birdshop, Vancouver Audubon, Portland Audubon, and the Friends of the Columbia River Gorge.

We have a new bird walk leader!

Robert has been an avid birdwatcher for many years. Last year he moved from Michigan where he led bird walks as the was President of the Holland Audubon Club. At present, he volunteers for Ridgefield NWR greeting people on the auto tour route and does bird surveys for the Cornell University Lab of Ornithology.

Join Robert on the Oaks to Wetlands trail at the Carty Unit on the following Saturdays. The walk will start at 8 am and last 2 to 3 hours depending on participant interest. An optional extension of the tour will go to the Port of Ridgefield to look at birds on Carty Lake from the Port property.

Space is limited to 15 participants. Please sign up in advance. Groups signing up at once are limited to 4 people to ensure space is left for others. (Exceptions can be made, please email or call with questions.)

Awards are given to recognize the outstanding sustainability efforts of individuals, organizations and businesses in Clark County. Old Liberty Theater

From humble beginnings in a bedroom in an industrial Polish town of Lódz, an idea for a film that would tell the story of Vincent van Gogh through his paintings was conceived. The potential for a truly groundbreaking yet completely unseen project seemed like a huge risk, but painter Dorota Kobiela and animator Hugh Welchman followed their dream to a reality despite the odds against them.
