Clark County is in Phase 2 of the Safe Start program. In this Phase, gatherings are limited to 5 people outside of your household. While we have tried to keep our Community Events Calendar updated, there may be events listed that have since been cancelled. Please check with event hosts/venue prior to planning attendance and follow all local health guidelines.
9AM Virtual Fun Run: Register and run your 5K on the road, on a trail, on the treadmill or around your yard; post a picture with #RidgefieldRuns4th2020 and receive participant swag. Sponsored by Ridgefield Runners. Additional information and registration here.
10AM Zoom Pancake Feed: Make your own pancakes or order them to-go; then join the Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce and your community for a Zoom hangout. Join the Zoom meeting here.
11AM Streaming Kid, Pet and Craft Parade: Get dressed up, decorate wagons or bikes, or make a shoebox-size float and take a picture. Send your pictures to Events@ci.ridgefield.wa.us with the subject line “Virtual Parade” anytime between June 7-30, and you will see them in an online parade on the City of Ridgefield Facebook on the 4th. Include any names or stories you would like to be included. Ridgefield Art Association will lead the parade with their shoebox-sized float entries.
1:00 pm Kids and Pets Parade: Dress up the kids/pets and parade them on your street for 6 blocks left, then right and back home. Keep the little ones in sight or follow along, but parade for your neighbors like you would if you were on the corner of Pioneer and Main. But, make sure all participants stay 6 feet apart.
2:00 pm Car Parade: Instead of watching the parade, be the parade. Decorate your car, truck, trailer, or whatever and drive the neighborhoods of Ridgefield. Create your own theme with your imagination. A suggested loop will be posted on www.Ridgefield4th.com. Parade safely: resist sharing your vehicle, and maintain social distancing by waiting in your front yard for cars to come to you.
4:00PM Judging for a Patriotic Parade of Homes: Decorate your homes to the MAX in all it’s glory. Think of how much effort we put into decorating our homes at Christmas, but do it for July with Red, White, and Blue or whatever July 4th looks like to you. If you’re in the city limits, submit your address to sandyschill33@gmail.com and judges will drive by on July 4th. The best decorated in each neighborhood will receive prizes similar to floats in the traditional parade.
10:00PM Streamed Fireworks Show: Tune in to Fox12 for an Independence Day Fireworks Show sponsored by ilani Resort.
ALL DAY
Enjoy a Front Yard or Driveway BBQ: Grill up a hot dog, make a potato salad and apple pie and enjoy an old-fashioned family 4th. Set up the lawn chairs and create your own fun and friendly competition with outdoor games like kick-the-can or capture the flag, decorate the driveway with chalk art, get out the yard games and play croquet, or badminton.
Display a U.S. Flag: Beginning June 21, pick up a handheld flag at Ridgefield businesses. One per family. Provided by Ridgefield4th Committee.
Wear a Ridgefield 4th T-shirt: Pre-order your shirt at ridgefield4th.com.
Kids Activities and Games: Find 4th of July inspired DIY crafts, scavenger hunt and other fun at home activities at bit.ly/VirtualFirstSaturday.
Co-sponsored by the Ridgefield 4th of July planning organization, City of Ridgefield, First Saturday Committee and local businesses.
The live Kid Parade, Car Parade and Patriotic Parade of Homes are hosted and judged by Ridgefield 4th Non-Profit.
