“Someone Else Will Donate Blood” – BE THE SOMEONE
Just 10% of people eligible to donate blood do so on a regular basis. LET’S CHANGE THAT.

Pop-Up Donor Center @ Ridgefield Outdoor Recreation Complex

Donating blood is an essential and encouraged activity critical to sustaining community healthcare. Your one-hour donation appointment is a safe action to support local hospitals and patients. Pop-Up Donor Centers are being conducted in accordance with social distancing guidelines.

  • Emergency Demand Puts Additional Pressure on Fragile Blood Reserves – Inventory May Not Be Replenished for Several Weeks. Supporting multiple patients with catastrophic hemorrhages is further depleting an already tenuous blood supply. One teenager brought in recently to a Northwest hospital with a gunshot wound required 70 units of blood.
  • Donating blood is a simple act that can mean so much to those in need. That “someone” could be a loved one or friend. Local blood supplies are dipping due to high patient demand. Don’t wait until a person close to you needs blood, act now by booking your appointment to donate.
  • Together we give. Together we live. It’s a chain reaction, this thing that happens when you give blood. It connects us, just like music. We are bound by blood.
  • It only takes a little over an hour to give blood. From your screening to the donation chair, it’s super easy. We may not always think about how important it is to donate, but the need for patients is always there.

Appointments and masks are required at all Bloodworks donation sites and no guests under the age of 16 are permitted onsite. Same-day appointments available at most locations. There is no deferral from donating if you receive the Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson/Janssen, Novavax, or AstraZeneca COVID vaccine. For more information, please visit bloodworksnw.org/coronavirus.

Click Register Now to sign up to join us for our fifth annual Turkey Trot.

Thanksgiving Day is a day for family, friends, and a chance to stop and be grateful for all that we have. This event allows our community to come together and do just that. It is the perfect way to start the day and work up an appetite for all that turkey and pie! And the best part is that all proceeds for this event equally benefit the Ridgefield Public Schools Foundation and the Ridgefield Family Resource Center.

The race, held on Thursday, Nov. 25th, begins at 9:00 am and includes a 5K and 10K Walk/Run, both of which start and end at Union Ridge Elementary School in downtown Ridgefield. This is a fun run/walk so there will not be a formal timer.

Race packet pick up and in-person registration will be on Wednesday, Nov. 24th, from 4 to 6 pm and race day from 8 to 9 am in the Union Ridge Elementary School Gym. We will have a limited number of extra T-shirts available for in-person registration.

At race packet pick up, please bring nonperishable food items for donation to the Ridgefield Family Resource Center. Each item will earn you a ticket that could be worth $100 in local restaurant gift cards.

To guarantee yourself a race T-shirt, participants must register by midnight on November 11th.
