    Put your detective skills to the test with a family-friendly mystery game in Downtown Ridgefield! Plus, First Saturday Vendors return for the season at Overlook Park.

    Ridgefield Whodunnits

    Our 4th annual family friendly mystery game – Ridgefield Whodunnits – is a one day experience this year! Ridgefield Whodunnits: A Tail in the Hundred Acre Wood is a Clue-style mystery game where individuals and families will walk around Downtown Ridgefield in search of clues to determine who took Eeyore’s tail, what distraction they used to do so, and where they did it. Game packets will be available beginning at 9am – complete the mystery by 12:30pm so that we can get Eeyore’s tail reattached. Click here to learn more about the game.

    First Saturday Vendors

    Onslow Nature Play Area Volunteer Event

    Have you heard we are building a park with volunteers? Join us for the phase 4 build of the Onslow Nature Play area at Abrams Park!

    Volunteers age 7 and up are welcome to come to any of our ongoing volunteer events to take an active role in building this new, innovative play area. Our 4th work party will be on Saturday, April 2 from 9am-11am.

    To RSVP, please make sure you have completed volunteer registration for all members of your party, and email Megan DeMoss at megan.demoss@ridgefieldwa.us.

    Mystery Lovers Used Book Sale

    Meet Me on Wednesdays is a NEW community event program starting in the Spring of 2022! The mission of Meet Me on Wednesdays is to bring active adults to Downtown Ridgefield to enjoy healthy exercise (walk, run, pedal, roll), experience the natural beauty and history of the Downtown, and to appreciate and patronize local businesses.

    Kids in strollers, well behaved leashed dogs, and people of all abilities are welcome.

    WHAT TO EXPECT

    1. Check in at Overlook Park at 10AM with a Meet Me on Wednesdays coordinator. The coordinator will let you know the week’s featured meeting place and have printouts available of the day’s featured route.
    2. Set out on your route – follow the featured route or create your own path. The featured route will have wayfinding arrows posted throughout the way to assist with directions.
    3. Return to Downtown Ridgefield and socialize with other Meet Me on Wednesdays participants at the week’s featured meeting place.

    SCHEDULE

    April 6: Downtown Route, meeting place is Season’s Coffee Shop (Hot and cold drinks, pastries, ice cream).

    April 13: Abrams Park Route, meeting place is Pioneer Street Restaurant (Breakfast and Lunch)

    April 20: Due to weather predictions of thunderstorms and possible hail, we are canceling Meet Me on Wednesdays for April 20.

    April 27: Dog Park Route, meeting place is El Rancho Viejo (Mexican and American food)

    May 4: John Hudson Route, meeting place is Zebrun’s Starliner (Drinks, sandwiches, salads, burgers, fries, fish)

    May 11: Little Libraries Route, meeting place is Carts by the Park (Sugars BBQ, Little Conejo Norte, Drinks by the Park)

    May 18: Meet Me on Wednesdays Urban Orienteering Route, meeting place is Pioneer Street Cafe (Breakfast and Lunch)

    May 25: History Walking Tour, meeting place is Season’s Coffee Shop (Hot and cold drinks, pastries, ice cream)

    Spring is the time to start gathering unwanted items that are not typically collected with weekly residential service.

    The Annual Spring Clean Up returns this April! Spring Clean and Beautify Your Home and bring your waste to Spring Clean Up on South 11th Street for quick free disposal of the items listed below.

    Yes, there is a typing error on the outside of the flyer, this event is taking place on Saturday, April 23, 2022.

    Please note: Due to funding sources, free disposal is limited to residents of the City of Ridgefield. We will be mailing admission flyers to those eligible. Not all Ridgefield addresses are within the city limits.

    We are thankful for our partnership with Clark County and Green Neighbors who make this event possible.

    Item List

    All vehicles will be asked for their flyer at the entrance. The flyer you receive is your ticket for disposal!

    GARBAGE
    Accepted: Yard and bulky items only. Items too large for regular garbage collection cans.
    Not Accepted: Curbside household and food waste; commercial garbage; construction debris (roofing, drywall, tile, etc.)

    YARD DEBRIS & WOOD
    Accepted: Tree branches and trimmings. Please cut into sections 4 ft. long and 4 inches in diameter or less. Clean wood, lumber, planks and boards.
    Not Accepted: Stumps, grass clippings, leaves. No nails or other attachments; no painted, sealed or treated wood.

    CARDBOARD
    Accepted: Clean cardboard.
    Not Accepted: Dirty, food or oil stained cardboard.

    ELECTRONICS
    Accepted: Computers, monitors, laptops, printers, fax machines, TVs, VCRs, cell phones, most items with a cord or battery.

    HAZARDOUS WASTE
    Accepted: Paint, Adhesives/Resins, Batteries, Old Fuels, Motor Oil, Antifreeze, Propane Cylinders, Household chemicals, Light Bulbs/Fluorescent Tubes/CFLs.
    Not Accepted: Containers over 5 gallon size. Business waste. Ammunition, Explosives, Marine flares, Biohazard/Sharps, Asbestos, Smoke Detectors.

    ITEMS WITH FREON
    Accepted: Residential freezers, refrigerators and A/C units only’ limit three Freon containing units per participant.
    Not Accepted: Commercial equipment or RV and automotive air conditioning units.

    SCRAP METAL
    Accepted: Large appliances (such as stoves, hot water heaters, washers/dryers), barbecues, metal sinks and similar metal items. Items must be mostly metal. All fluids must be drained.
    Not Accepted: Propane tanks, car bodies, trailers or metals with grease. Dishwashers should be disposed as garbage.

    TIRES
    Accepted: Regular size passenger car, SUV, pickup truck and motorcycle tires; limit five tires per participant/per day. Rims off tires are accepted as scrap metal.
    Not Accepted: Tractor-trailer size or larger, tires from service station owners, repair garages or any type of tire dealer or re-treader.

    Unfortunately Block Foam will not be accepted at this year’s event.
    Please carefully cover and secure your load to prevent littering.

    FOOD DONATIONS will be accepted for Neighbors Helping Neighbors

  • Free Shred Day – Hosted by Columbia Credit Union

    Bring up to 3 paper-size boxes of your sensitive documents to the Clark County Food Bank on April 23rd to be securely shredded by the pros. This is a free event; however, non-perishable food and cash donations will benefit Clark County Food Bank.

    Remember: Please do not arrive before we open at 10:00am as there is no parking available for early arrivals. We’ll shred until 2pm or until trucks are full.

  • Red Cross Smoke Alarm Installation Event

    Home fires claim seven lives every day, but you can help change that. Help keep your family safe by registering for a free smoke alarm. May is the annual Red Cross Sound the Alarm campaign.

    We will be in your neighborhood installing FREE alarms.
