Multicultural Festival Urban Orienteering, 10am-1pm

Try out orienteering, the sport of navigation and learn more about the performances at this year’s Multicultural Festival! Orienteering is similar to a scavenger hunt, however you locate specific locations using a map and a compass.

Craft Tent, 9am-2pm

Come and create some crafts at our craft tent at the 2022 Multicultural Festival! Craft supplies and instructions will be available and there will be staff nearby to assist if you have questions.

Meet Me on Wednesdays is a NEW community event program starting in the Spring of 2022! The mission of Meet Me on Wednesdays is to bring active adults to Downtown Ridgefield to enjoy healthy exercise (walk, run, pedal, roll), experience the natural beauty and history of the Downtown, and to appreciate and patronize local businesses.

Kids in strollers, well behaved leashed dogs, and people of all abilities are welcome.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  1. Check in at Overlook Park at 10AM with a Meet Me on Wednesdays coordinator. The coordinator will let you know the week’s featured meeting place and have printouts available of the day’s featured route.
  2. Set out on your route – follow the featured route or create your own path. The featured route will have wayfinding arrows posted throughout the way to assist with directions.
  3. Return to Downtown Ridgefield and socialize with other Meet Me on Wednesdays participants at the week’s featured meeting place.

Join us Wednesdays in the Downtown Arts Quarter!

We are excited to partner with the Ridgefield Art Association to put on Musicians in the Park, a weekly series of lunch-time performances by local musicians at Overlook Park.

Come to Overlook Park, at the corner of Pioneer St and Main Ave, each Wednesday for a music filled lunch hour. Please feel free to bring a picnic lunch or pick up take out from Downtown restaurant. There will be a few benches and picnic tables, but we encourage you to bring your own folding chairs as well.

The Gonzalo Bergara Quintet. The acclaimed quartet featuring special guest to create a quintet. “The Gonzalo Bergara Quartet (GBQ) explores a modern variant of the 1930s Django Reinhardt-inspired sound. The Quartet’s first CD, Porteña Soledad, was Editor’s Pick in Guitar Player Magazine, and Vintage Guitar Magazine called it a “masterpiece.” The music is heavily influenced by Django Reinhardt and the Hot Club of France, as well as the traditional jazz and music of Bergara’s true home, Buenos Aires.” With Leah Zeger on Violin, Max O’Rourke on Rhythm Guitar and PJ Wyderka on Double Bass featuring a special guest to create a quintet.
