Road Construction & Traffic Impacts

Below is information about current traffic impacts caused by projects.

Road construction, especially paving, is weather dependent and often delayed by inclement weather. Please keep in mind that the schedules provided are the most current available but are subject to weather delays.

S 21st Place, S 4th Way - PERIODIC LANE CLOSURE - January 9 - 23: Periodic lane closures will be in effect on Friday, January 9 through Friday, January 23 on S 21st Place and S 4th Way to allow contractors to complete frontage landscaping for Ridgefield Heights.

N 10th Avenue at N Fairhope Place - SINGLE LANE CLOSURE - January 12 - 19: A single lane closure will be in effect on Monday, January 12 through Monday, January 19 from 7 AM - 4 PM daily to allow contractors to install utilities for the new elementary school.

N 10th Avenue between N Fairhope Place and NW 5th Ave - FULL ROAD CLOSURE - January 21 - March 9: A full road closure will be in effect starting Wednesday, January 21 through Monday, March 9 from 7 AM - 6 PM to allow contractors to complete a sewer install for the new elementary school. The road will re-open each night after 6 PM.

Pioneer Widening

The City is in the final stages of a major infrastructure project along Pioneer Street between 56th Place and Royle Road. This work began in Summer 2024 and is anticipated to be complete Fall 2025. Project information. 

All lanes on Pioneer Street are open outside of work hours.

• Pioneer Street: Four Lanes OPEN. Intermittent lane closures may occur during work hours, 7 AM to 5 PM.
• Pioneer and Discovery Drive Roundabout: OPEN as roundabout, with intermittent closures as needed to safely complete work in the roundabout during work hours, 7 AM to 5 PM.
• Discovery Drive and Pioneer Canyon Drive: OPEN. Occasional intermittent closures may occur during work hours, 7 AM to 5 PM.
• 53rd Place: OPEN. Occasional intermittent closures may occur during work hours, 7 AM to 5 PM.

Please slow down (25 mph work zone speed limit) and pay close attention to signage, cones, lane markings and flaggers.
