Make a Difference Month

Download the 2023 Make a Difference Activity Packet

This packet includes weekly scheduled activities and ideas for how YOU can Make A Difference this     November. Use the last page of this packet (Activity Journal) to track your involvement. Use the packet or come up with your own activities and find which category you have room to improve upon. If you would like to share your journal, submit the final page to Ridgefield City Hall (230 Pioneer St) or via email to Events@ridgefieldwa.us and we will post it on the Ridgefield First Saturdays Facebook page. Please share with us by December 6th!

Check out the weekly themes and quick links to highlighted activities:

Week 1: Stewardship

Stewardship is the act of taking responsibility for the well-being of the environment and your community and taking action to restore or protect that well-being. When we actively engage in Stewardship activities that benefit our trails & parks, community, and environment, we connect with neighbors, spread community ownership and pride, preserve natural resources, and help our town and businesses thrive.

Week 2: Small Acts of Kindness

Our daily lives can get busy and fly by, but at the end of the day what we tend to remember most are the little things: someone paid it forward in the coffee line, receiving an unexpected text from a friend, the person who let us skip ahead in line at the grocery store.

These small acts of kindness add up quickly. Kindness promotes gratitude, empathy, and compassion toward others and can have a positive impact on our own health and well-being.

Week 3: Gratitude

Gratitude is a thankful appreciation for what we receive, whether tangible or intangible. With gratitude, we acknowledge the goodness in our lives. In the process, we recognize that the source of that goodness lies at least partially outside ourselves. As a result, gratitude connects us to something larger than ourselves – to our families, friends, and community.

Think about how to take that inward reflection of gratitude and extend it to your community. How can Gratitude make a difference?

  • Make a donation of new children's coats, hats, gloves or unopened toiletries at the below locations to support the Ridgefield Family Resource Center - November 11th - 24th

    • City Hall

Week 4: Community

You have made a great start following along with us through Make A Difference Month. For our final week, we want to highlight how you can keep the ball rolling by staying connected to our Ridgefield community. Community involvement is important because the health of your community directly affects you. When you support and connect to your community you can take pride and ownership of its successes. We like to think of Ridgefield as one big community, but it also helps to think small.

Connect with and support your neighbors, colleagues, and classmates to Make A Difference you can see.
