Exciting enhancements are coming to the Ridgefield Outdoor Recreation Complex (RORC)! The City of Ridgefield is excited to announce the start of construction on a new Fieldhouse near fields 4 and 5. This enclosure will create year-round use for the batting cages and additional amenities for athletes and officials.
Thanks to funding from a Washington State Legislature Capital Budget Grant, this project will enclose the existing batting cages next to Fields 4 and 5. The new Fieldhouse will allow baseball and softball players to practice in the batting cages under all weather conditions. Additionally, the project includes the construction of an Umpire Changing Room/Office and a Storage Room. The facility will also be equipped with lighting, outlets, and ventilation, ensuring a comfortable training environment.
Construction is set to begin on Monday, March 17, with completion expected in May. During this time, the work zone at RORC will be temporarily closed to ensure public safety. The work zone includes the playground and the southern trail between the school parking lot and RORC. These areas will remain closed for the duration of the project.

The batting cages within the fieldhouse will be reservable through the Ridgefield School District Facilitron similar to other facilities at RORC.
We appreciate the community’s patience and excitement as we bring this valuable addition to life. To learn more about the project, visit the RORC Fieldhouse project page on Ridgefield Roundtable.
