The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has presented an Outstanding Achievement Award to the City of Ridgefield for its Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2022.
The Award represents a significant achievement by the City of Ridgefield. In order to be eligible for the PAFR Award, a government must also submit its annual comprehensive financial report to GFOA's Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program and receive the Certificate for the current fiscal year. The City received the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting earlier this year. Each eligible report is reviewed by judges who evaluate the report based on the following categories: reader appeal, understandability, distribution methods, creativity and other elements.
A Popular Annual Financial Report, or PAFR, is a document that is intended to convey the financial results of the City’s operations to those stakeholder’s of the City that do not necessarily have a background in public finance. The receipt of these two awards represents the City's commitment to making financial information open and accessible to all.
