Ridgefield's Human Resources Department is responsible for managing the legal, compliance, equal employment opportunity and workforce diversity efforts through a variety of programs.

Labor Relations Philosophy
Ridgefield is committed to working collaboratively with unions and employees who are represented to achieve common goals. The City strives to achieve this commitment throughout the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements with two unions and by maintaining effective communication with the unions outside of the negotiation process.
The Ridgefield Police Officers' Association (RPOA) represents the law enforcement officers. The current labor agreement between RPOA and the City (PDF) between RPOA and the City is effective January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2024.
The Chauffers, Teamsters and Helpers, Local 58, represents Public Works, administrative and finance employees. The current labor agreement between Teamsters and the City (PDF) is effective January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2024.
