The Ridgefield City Council is seeking dynamic and self-motivated community members to serve on various boards and commissions. These positions are critical to representing the community’s wants and needs in local government decisions. This is a unique and rewarding volunteer assignment that allows members to get connected and make a difference in Ridgefield.

Planning Commission
The Planning Commission is comprised of seven volunteers who advise the City Council on planning, development, and growth issues for the community. Beginning in 2023, the primary focus will be a new 20-year Comprehensive Plan to be completed in 2025; the Capital Facilities Plans, and Development Code regulations.

Time Commitment:
- Planning Commission members serve four-year terms.
- Regular attendance at meetings at 6:30 PM on the first Wednesday of each month,
- Preparation for meetings,
- Active involvement in the Ridgefield community.
Qualifications:
- All members of the Commission must reside within the corporate limits of the city.

Civil Service Commission
The Civil Service Commission is comprised of three member volunteers commission who advises on the manner in which examinations are held, appointments, promotions and other mattes connected with personnel administration of Police Department.

- Civil Service Commission members serve six-year terms.
- Regular attendance at meetings at 6:30 PM on the second Tuesday of each month,
- Preparation for meetings.
Qualifications:
- Citizen of the United States,
- Resident of the City of Ridgefield for at least one year.

Clark County Mosquito Control District Board of Trustees
The Clark County Mosquito Control District was created in 1982 and provides seasonal mosquito control through the Clark County Health Department, which administers the program. A Board of Trustees oversees the work of the Mosquito Control District and establishes its policy. The board is comprised of one member from each city or town in Clark County and three at large members appointed by the Clark County Council. The board adopts the work plan, prepares and approves district expenditures, and contracts for services.

Time Commitment:
- Clark County Mosquito Control District Board of Trustees members serve two-year terms.
- Regular attendance at quarterly meetings at 7:00 PM on the second Tuesday evening of February, May, August and November.
- Preparation for meetings.

- All members of the Commission must reside within the corporate limits of the city.
