[ARCHIVED] Tyler King Appointed as Ridgefield's First Police Detective

Detective King stands with Chief Doriot and the Ridgefield City Council.

At the January 9 City Council meeting, Chief Cathy Doriot announced a significant milestone for the Ridgefield Police Department—the appointment of Officer Tyler King as the city’s first Detective.

As Ridgefield grows, the complexity of cases has increased, often requiring specialized investigative skills and follow-up. The addition of a dedicated Detective is a big step forward in providing high-quality service to our community. This role allows patrol officers to focus on traffic enforcement, neighborhood patrols, and responding to calls, while complex cases get the expert attention they need and victims can rely on one contact to guide them through the process.

Detective King has been with RPD since June 2017. He has consistently demonstrated a passion for investigative work, a strong understanding of search warrants, and extensive experience in handling significant cases.

What truly sets King apart is his ability to build strong relationships with community members, victims, and law enforcement partners. His commitment to collaboration and trust makes him the perfect fit for this role.

Please join us in congratulating Detective King on his new appointment!
