July 4th is a busy time in our community, stay prepared and informed as we approach a fun, festive and community filled weekend!

Fireworks

Be a good neighbor, follow all firework laws so that everyone can have a happy Independence Day!

Fireworks may be discharged in Ridgefield on July 4th ONLY from 9am to Midnight.

Fireworks will be on sale in Ridgefield, and throughout the County, before they are permitted to be discharged. If you plan to buy fireworks, the best option is to purchase them locally from a stand inspected by the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office. Fireworks purchased outside the county may not be legal locally.

Illegal use of fireworks, including using them outside of designated discharge time or device type violation, is subject to a $500 civil fine for first time offenders. 

Clark County provides an interactive map that allows the public to quickly determine the rules for fireworks use based on an address anywhere in the county.

Residents are asked not to call 911 or 311 for the purpose of reporting nuisance fireworks. Only call 911 in an emergency when there is a fire, injury or lives are in danger. Clark Regional Emergency Services Agency (CRESA) has established this phone number for reporting nuisance fireworks complaints: 360-597-7888. The phone line will be in operation July 3 through 5. 

Safety First

Residents and visitors are urged to celebrate the Fourth of July with extra caution because improper use of fireworks can lead to grass or structure fires. 

A few important safety reminders:

• Always have a bucket of water and water hose ready to douse any fire.
• Assign a responsible adult to supervise fireworks use.
• Use fireworks outdoors in a clear area away from buildings, vehicles and dry vegetation.
• Never aim fireworks at people or structures.
• Never attempt to alter fireworks or relight “duds” that fail to ignite.
• Place used fireworks in a bucket of water to soak overnight before disposing of them. These devices can still be smoldering and could start a fire if placed in a trash receptacle.

4th of July Celebrations

This year, there are THREE DAYS of Independence Day celebrations scheduled in Ridgefield.

The annual 4th of July Celebration and the Street Dance on the 3^rd are organized by the Ridgefield 4th of July Committee, a non-profit that is a separate entity from the City. For a full schedule of activities and other event information, please visit the event website.

Thursday, July 3

Street Dance

The Street Dance is back and FREE to all! Gather in Davis Park from 4 PM to 10 PM for food, music, dancing, kids fun and a 21+ Beer Garden. Visit the event website.

Reserving Space for the Parade

Chairs, blankets, ropes, tape, ribbon etc. may be placed on sidewalks AFTER 6PM on Thursday, July 3. Chairs and other personal property left to reserve space on public right of way before 6PM on July 3 will be removed and taken to the police station at 101 Mill Street. No taping or roping off an area before 6 PM July 3rd.

Friday, July 4 – Independence Day

Shuttle, Detour & Parking

People come to Ridgefield from all over the county for our 4^th of July Parade. Check below to determine your best route into downtown. Plan to arrive by 10 AM if you are attending the parade.

FREE C-TRAN SHUTTLE
Thanks to the generous support of C-TRAN, there will be FREE shuttle buses from the Ridgefield Costco into Downtown for the 4^th of July Parade. Enjoy easy parking and avoid the crowds by parking at Costco! After the success of last year, we added additional buses to meet demand.

• AM/Arrival Shuttle: Begin at 8 AM, final departure to Downtown at 10:10 AM.
  • Park at Costco Warehouse, 519 N 56^th Place. Shuttle pick up will be at the main entrance, near the ADA parking.
• NO SHUTTLE DURING PARADE
• PM/Return Shuttle: Begin approximately 12:30 PM, final departure 5 PM
  • Pick up at school bus turn-around located off N 8th Avenue to shuttle back to Costco.

ROAD CLOSURES AND DETOUR
Road closures will be in effect in Downtown throughout the morning, causing backups. Pioneer Street will be CLOSED at Hillhurst for the parade and detour will be required.

Avoid navigating road closures by using the FREE C-TRAN Shuttle! 

If you are not using the shuttle, the BEST ROUTE to event parking is to detour north on Royle Road or Reiman Road to NW 289th Street and come south on Main Avenue. This route will avoid road closures and backups navigating through downtown. View map (PDF)

FREE EVENT PARKING

• Free event parking at the Ridgefield Waterfront, 109 W Division St. FREE Shuttle to Ridgefield Community Library available. 
• ADA Parking at the Ridgefield Administrative and Civic Center, 510 Pioneer Street, and at Union Ridge Elementary, 330 N 5^th Ave.
• No parking the night before. 
• No parking on the Pioneer Street Rail Overpass.

Fun Run

Kick off the celebrations of the day with a 2.5 mile Fun Run in Downtown Ridgefield! Free entry and no registration required. Just show up with your friends, family and festive spirit! After the run, join in on free Zumba in the Park and keep building energy as we prepare for the parade.

• Location: Davis Park, 337-441 N 3^rd Ave, Ridgefield WA 98642
• Date & Time: 7:30 AM Check-In Begins, 8 AM Run Start
• Route: Start at Davis Park, run south on 3^rd to Pioneer Street and over the Overpass to the Ridgefield Waterfront, then return to Davis.
• Who: This run is open to all ages and abilities! Runners, walkers, strollers, waddlers and even 4-legged participants are welcome. Please keep pets on leashes.

Participants will receive a limited edition “Ridgefield 4^th of July Fun Run” medal at the finish line, while supplies last. This run is sponsored by the City of Ridgefield and supported by the Ridgefield Runners.

After collaborative discussions with Ridgefield Runners, we were unable to identify a 5K/10K route that met safety and logistical needs for 2025. We know how much the community values starting Independence Day with a run, so this year, we’re excited to offer a shorter, family-friendly fun run that keeps the tradition alive in a new way. Planning efforts are already underway to bring back the full race experience in 2026.

Parade and Festival

The parade route can be viewed from 4th Ave and Division down 3rd Ave, to Pioneer and 8th Ave. Enjoy the festival from 10 AM to 5 PM. Visit the event website.

• Parade spectators need to plan to arrive in downtown early. There will be backups on Pioneer and Hillhurst after 9:30 AM.

The 4th of July Festival, 10 AM to 5 PM, will include food and craft vendors, children's activities, live entertainment and street dancing, and a pie eating contest. Visit the event website.

Portable toilets are available at the following locations:

• 5th Ave and Division
• Davis Park (Mill and 3rd Ave)
• Next to City Hall (3rd Ave and Pioneer)
• Overlook Park (Main and Pioneer)

There is also a public restroom at Overlook Park (Main and Pioneer).

Saturday, July 5

The Weekend Continues in Ridgefield! 4th of July festivities are not just limited to one day in downtown. There is a Classic Car Show and Farmer’s Market scheduled for a fun day in downtown Ridgefield. Along with downtown business specials and activities! Learn more on the event webpage.

Classic Car Show

Downtown Ridgefield, 9 AM - 2 PM
Sign up to showcase your classic car, chat with other car enthusiasts and enjoy a summer day in the heart of Ridgefield. Pre-registration is required, but free! Deadline to register is June 27.

Ridgefield Farmers Market

Davis Park, 9 AM - 2 PM
Ridgefield Farmer's Market will be set up selling local produce, artisan goods and more at Davis Park from 9 AM to 2 PM.

Ridgefield Community Library - Chalk Art Activity

Walk next to the library off of N Main Avenue to enjoy some chalk art with fun tasks, perfect for younger children looking to get their energy out!
