[ARCHIVED] Recruitment Open for Ridgefield Parks Board

The Columbia Assembly Room where Council, Boards and Commissions meet.

The City of Ridgefield is seeking a dynamic and self-motivated City resident to serve on the Ridgefield Parks Board. The Parks Board is comprised of seven volunteer citizens who advise the City Council on parks planning and acquisition within the current city limits and urban growth boundary of the City of Ridgefield.

Park Board members serve three-year terms. The time commitment includes regular attendance at meetings at 6:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month, preparation for meetings, and active involvement in the Ridgefield community.

How to Apply:

Interested candidates must submit the following materials:

  1. A cover letter explaining why the candidate is interested in being appointed to the Parks Board and a description of what the 2-3 priorities should be for the City as the community continues to grow.
  2. A completed application.
  3. A resume is optional.

Board Members are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by City Council. Appointment confirmation will be made at a City Council meeting in August and will be effective immediately. Appointee will fulfill a midterm vacancy with term expiring on December 31, 2023 and a potential for reappointment for an additional 3-year term.
