The Ridgefield 2025 State of the City was Tuesday, March 18, here are all the details in case you missed it (ICMI).
First, we gathered in the Ridgefield High School Commons from 5-6 PM for an Open House featuring informational tables from Communications and Community Events, Police, Water and Stormwater, Parks, Capital Projects, Finance, and Community Development. Community members engaged in informative conversation with City Council, Planning Commission members, Parks Board members, and staff about current projects and initiatives.
Highlights of information at the Open House included:
At 6 PM, we moved into the Performing Arts Center for the formal program. Mayor Cole began by welcoming attendees, recognizing the work of the City Manager and Management Team, as well as expressing gratitude to city employees, city partner organizations, and local leaders. He then called up the rest of the members of City Council for presentation of the 2025 Make A Difference Awards.
Make A Difference Awards
Ridgefield’s strength comes from the people and organizations who step up every day to Make A Difference—often without seeking recognition. Now in its third year, the Make A Difference Awards are our opportunity to recognize the people and organizations whose commitment and leadership create lasting impacts across our city. There are two categories for this award: Individual and Organization. These are people who show up day in and day out—who give tirelessly of themselves, often at a sacrifice, and who are dedicated to the betterment and wellbeing of the world around them.
This year, we created short videos for each finalist to shine a spotlight on their stories. To watch each, click on the name below.
