Application Requirements & Checklists

Please use the worksheets below to prepare the required information for your online permit application. When you are ready to apply, visit the Permit and Development Portal to submit your application.

NEW PROCESS AND SUBMITTAL UPDATES FOR BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATIONS

In effort to streamline the application submittal and review process for building permit applications, the City of Ridgefield is combining the mechanical and plumbing reviews and the ability to add other types of reviews within the same application.  

Below is a list of the current applications that have been updated:

NEW COMMERCIAL BUILDING APPLICATION

  1. Adding the ability to combine other review types within this same application:
    1. Commercial Fence over 7’ in height
    2. Retaining Wall associated with the building
    3. Trash Enclosure
  2.  Removing the requirement for the applicant to submit separate mechanical and plumbing applications and instead Requires submittal of plumbing and mechanical with this same application, as outlined below:
    1. COMMERCIAL NEW BUILDING (SHELL ONLY)
      1. Plumbing Plans and associated documents for, at minimum, underground plumbing.
    2. COMMERCIAL NEW BUILDING

      1. Plumbing Plans and associated documents.
      2. Mechanical Plans and associated documents.

COMMERCIAL TENANT IMPROVEMENT APPLICATION 

  1. Mechanical and Plumbing review is now combined with this application
    1. New First Time Tenants in a new shell, Mechanical and Plumbing plans and associated documents are required to be submitted with this review.
    2. For other Tenant Improvements, mechanical and/or plumbing plans and associated documents are required if part of the project scope.

COMMERCIAL BUILDING ADDITION APPLICATION

  1. Adding the ability to combine other review types within this same application: 
    1. Mechanical and Plumbing plans and associated documents
    2. Retaining Wall, only if directly associated with the building addition
    3. Commercial Fence over 7’ in height
    4. Trash Enclosure

RESIDENTIAL ADDITION APPLICATION

  1. Adding the ability to combine other review types within this same application
    1. Mechanical Plans and associated documents
    2. Plumbing Plans and associated documents, if part of the project scope
    3. Retaining Walls, only when directly associated with the building addition.

RESIDENTIAL REMODEL APPLICATION

  1. Adding the ability to combine other review types within this same application
    1. Mechanical Plans and associated documents, if part of the project scope
    2. Plumbing Plans and associated documents, if part of the project scope
